THE GOVERNMENT OF MELILLA HARASSES HUMAN RIGHTS GROUPS AND TELEVISION REPORTERS IN ORDER TO CONCEAL AND SILENCE REPORTS THAT EXPOSE ITS MANIFESTO OF CONTEMPT TOWARDS THE HUMAN RIGHTS OF MINORS
The Government of Melilla has decided to lodge a complaint against a number of members of local human rights groups, media professionals, and others seeking to broadcast a programme on Spanish national television (TVE), in which some of the key protagonists were immigrants and unaccompanied minors formerly in the custody of the Social Welfare Office of Melilla (la Consejería de Bienestar Social de Melilla).
The Social Welfare Office has for many months now taken all the measures possible to get rid of as many unaccompanied minors as possible from its care. The minors are being subjected to heavy psychological pressure at a time when complaints about physical ill-treatment have become commonplace (on an almost daily basis) since November and December.
Many minors have left the centre where they are housed out of fear, but according to the official version, they have “left voluntarily”.
Yesterday, the government announced its with great fanfare, and thus began its electoral campaign by once again shamefully introducing the subject of unaccompanied minors as a key element of its election platform.
The government also stated that the TVE programme could be managed from above to cast a poor light on the image of Melilla (that is, on them) after the visit of the King… and this same government which we have can’t set aside or forget the old Francoist theories of a “Jewish-Masonic-Communist” conspiracy.
