La huelga en la Plaza de España dura ya dos mesesEl día 01 de julio entraron en el CETI de Melilla varios agentes vestidos de paisano y arrestaron a 5 ciudadanos de Bangladesh que fueron trasladados al CIE de Málaga para su expulsión. Actualmente hay unos 60 ciudadanos de Bangladesh en el CETI de Melilla, a muchos de ellos les faltan uno o dos meses para llevar detenidos en Melilla tres años.
Por otro lado siguen en huelga en Melilla un grupo de seis cachimires que igualmente rondan los tres años de detención. Uno de ellos vivió además las peripecias del Marine. La Delegación del Gobierno en Melilla sigue empecinada en que para aplicarles medidas excepcionales o humanitarias que permitan solucionar su situación deben dejar la huelga. Durante las huelgas anteriores se hicieron iguales declaraciones y cuando cesaron la huelga se inició una feroz caza de inmigrantes que duró más de un mes y que acabó con la deportación de decenas de ellos.

NEW DEPORTATIONS OF BANGLADESHI CITIZENS
The strike in the Plaza de España has now gone on for two months.
On 1 July a number of agents in plainclothes entered Melilla’s CETI and arrested 5 Bangladeshi citizens who were subsequently transferred to the CIE in Málaga for their deportation. There are currently some 60 Bangladeshi citizens in Melilla’s CETI; several of them are now only one or two months short of having spent three years detained in Melilla.
In other news, a group of 6 Kashmiris are continuing their strike in Melilla; they too are approaching three years in detention. One of them lived through the Marine-1 tragedy [a boat carrying over 300 migrants which was stranded off the coast of Mauritania in 2007]. The Delegation of the Government in Melilla stubbornly continues to insist that they quit their strike in order for the authorities to apply exceptional or humanitarian measures that may help solve their situation. During previous strikes, the authorities made similar declarations, but when the strikes ended, they began a fierce hunt for migrants that lasted more than a month and resulted in the deportation of tens of migrants.
